My Life as an Endurance Athlete

April 11, 12 & 13 – Tapering Down

Sunday was a rest day. That was odd. I cannot remember a weekend day where I did nothing. Monday called for a short run. I warmed up for 10 minutes  at an 8:30  pace. I then did 2 reps of 2 mile speed bursts. My pace for both for both of the reps was exactly 7:30. In between each rep I jogged easy for 3 minutes. I also cooled down with about 5 minutes. Total mileage was 6 miles and it was relatively painless.

Tuesday was a travel day to New York but before I left I jumped on the bike trainer for 45 minutes. Again, there was a warm up, followed by a small period of hard pushing and then a cool down.

Wednesday I was in New York and before my day went long, I swam in a hotel pool across the street from the hotel I was staying at. The pool was small but very crowded with swimmers. It served the purpose for me.

Tally for Monday: 6 miles, running

Tally for Tuesday: 15 miles, biking

Tally for Wednesday: 1600 meters, swimming
